Chef Pâtissière, Andrea Reiss (Dre), the café/pâtisserie’s namesake, is well qualified to be serving up some of Melbourne’s best sweet treats.

Before completing a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery at Holmesglen in 2003, Dre joined a talented team of chefs, led by Daniel Wilson (Huxtable & Huxtaburger) to open Jacques Reymond’s Arintji at Federation Square. It was her first taste of the culinary world & a commercial kitchen – & the incipient step towards what was about to unfold.

Dre began her love affair with pastry at the Green House in Mayfair London, before moving on to the Michelin-starred Hakkasan/Yauatcha group. It was then on to the five star St. Regis Hotel at The Lanesborough, where she was headhunted by the esteemed, Michelin-starred Taillevant restaurant in Paris.

Dre returned home to Melbourne after extensive time & experience working in some of the most esteemed restaurants in London & Paris & Chez Dré was born.

Following the incredible success of Chez Dré, it was a natural progression to expand & do what Dre does best – dessert! So in May 2015 Bibelot opened. Located at the Coventry Street entrance to Chez Dré, Bibelot is an opulent destination for all-things-sweet; it houses an artisanal patisserie, gelateria, coffee bar, chocolate shop, high tea salon & a library of coffee table books.
